The Friends of the Australian Ballet (NSW) is a not-for-profit organisation that has been connecting members and inspiring ballet audiences for almost 50 years.
The Friends is the principal support group in NSW for The Australian Ballet and is committed to developing talent through projects and scholarships with The Australian Ballet Company and students of The Australian Ballet School which are located in Victoria.
The Friends has an experienced Board, lean dynamic member services team and established volunteer program that create and deliver a varied selection of ticketed events and communications. These activities grow the art forms profile and appreciation, resulting in fundraising efforts that support The Australian Ballet and The Australian Ballet School.
Friends of the Australian Ballet (NSW) has been a proud supporter of The Australian Ballet since FABs inception in 1973:
+ Sold over ½ million tickets to members for The Australian Ballet dress rehearsals
+ Reinvested millions of dollars in ballet specific projects at The Australian Ballet
+ Presented over 500 events
+ Held 50 major events
The Friends is committed to the development of new talent, providing scholarships for dancers with The Australian Ballet Company and students of The Australian Ballet School. In recent years FABs achievements have included:
+ Funding more than 500 pairs of pointe shoes gifting $50,000 to the Pointe Shoe Fund
+ Made donations in excess of $500,000 to directly fund ballet scholarships
The Friends are an advocate for all forms of dance in Australia forging ties with organisations such as the Royal Academy of Dance, AusDance, Sydney Dance Company and Bangarra Dance Company.

Greg Khoury (Chairman)
Greg Khoury is a director with Century Venues Entertainment Group and is CEO of The Concourse at Chatswood. He specialises in theatre production and venue management.
Bruce Pollack (Deputy Chair)
Bruce Pollack is a publicity consultant in arts entertainment arranging media campaigns for staged musicals, theatrical presentations, orchestral concerts and major arts launches.
Gary Polivnick (Treasurer)
Gary Polivnick is a director of Gary Polivnick Consulting and works as an outsourced chief financial officer for various companies including not-for-profit organisations.
Tanya Barrington is an energetic worker supporting charities and has been involved in fundraising for a number of years. Tanya has a great passion for dance.
Jeremy Moller is a leading risk & compliance lawyer. Jeremy was drawn to ballet as a child attending performances with his mother, influencing an active involvement in the arts.
Lena Peacock is an accomplished marketing and communications professional with substantial experience in the creative and performing arts.
Fiona Thornton runs her own consultancy specialising in people and change management. Fiona is an avid fan of the ballet and dance more generally.
Maria Yiasemidas is a lawyer speciailising in commercial litigation involving insolvency and restructuring. Maria has a keen interest in not-for-profits and ballet.
